Overview
For this project, I was tasked to create a travel app to solve a specific problem. At the time I had been "sober driving"- using a group messaging app called GroupMe to offer rides to students going to or from local parties. The chats were for college students and ran by college students and was made to help keep inebriated people safe and off the street while providing them with an out from having to take an expensive Uber or Lyft with an unknown driver. The GroupMe system worked but could definitely use some improvement, so I came up with Chariot- a travel app created specifically for college students that allows them to catch a ride from their peers instead of running any risks of walking at night or creepy Uber drivers. Chariot allows its users to choose between being a driver or a rider so students can do both (not in the same night, of course) and offers safety features to help students get home safe and sound.
